Dear Tina,

\nEverywhere i look it seems like dresses and skirts are getting shorter and shorter this season. I love the “mini” look but sometimes I feel just too exposed. Are there any alternatives or different ways to wear this look so I’m not giving everyone a “show”?<\/i>

\nI completely understand your fear of bearing it all in the micro minis this season, but don’t worry, because with these short short skirt trends, there are also some “coverage” trends. One great way to wear the short skirts is to pair them with leggings. in all different colors, they are a great way to add color or weight without adding too many layers. You can wear the leggings or sport opaque tights. The tights serve almost the same purpose as the legging but make the look much sleeker.<\/p>\n

\nI’ve recently started a job at a company whose holiday party is a pretty big deal. It is reasonably dressy, and I am told that the impression you make on your bosses there is not long forgotten. Here’s where you come in: I want to look festive, but classy. something tells me my red and green antlers won’t cut it. Do you have an idea of how I can look jolly without donning a Saint Nick beard?<\/p>\n

\nTina: <\/b>Yours is a common problem, but not an impossible one. i have the solution in one easy word; metallics. Metallic dreses, while looking too harsh in summer, are great for these cool winter months. They look fancy while giving that icy snowy style. In silver or gold, you’ll look as pretty as a Christmas ornament without blinding a boss with blinking lights.<\/p>\n

\nLuckily, a lot of designers are currently like minded. the Behnaz Saraphour dress in the photos is a great little example of a festive yet classy dress for your holiday party.<\/p>\n
