“These pink Playboy sneakers were the only pair they had in my size, (8.5) in a Takashimaya department store in Taipei, Taiwan. I originally wanted Black but the largest size they had was a 7! Though they are simple and fun comfort sneakers, there is something very special about wearing them in America. In Taiwan and Japan they are sold as a very popular sexy, comfortable little shoe, mostly in the department stores. In the U.S., Playboy shoes can be seen as either a corny gimmick for the company's business or a coveted novelty item. When I look them up, I have seen many an Ebay or Craigslist ad selling some unique Playboy pumps or sneakers, but even on the Playboy store website have yet to find this pair that I found in Takashimaya. It helps to enjoy this brand that was oftentimes seen as overtly naughty. These shoes are as comfortable as Ked's, Vans or Tom's slip-ons, but with a cool zipper that makes them unique. If you can find them sold here in the U.S. it will be very surprising. No wonder a girl came up to me last night and asked to take a picture of my shoes!
