The Board of Directors of Asian Sisters Participating In Reaching Excellence (ASPIRE)<\/b> announced the appointment of Leslie S. Wang as the new Executive Director for ASPIRE<\/b>. Wang comes to ASPIRE<\/b> from Landor Associates, a leading strategic branding and design firm, in San Francisco. During her four years at Landor, Wang served as a brand consultant to world-class corporations ranging from Citigroup to Neiman Marcus to SKYY Vodka by managing and crafting evocative brand strategies. <\/p>\n
Previous to Landor, Wang worked at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in Executive Education, where she honed her strategic planning, client service and program management skills. She also spent three years working with Future Women Leaders, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing career development and networks for women professionals. <\/p>\n
Wang holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Quantitative Economics and American Studies from Tufts University and studied abroad at Hong Kong University. In addition, she was a distinguished presenter at the 2005 Asian American Studies Conference in Los Angeles and is actively involved with International Orange, a spa and yoga studio in San Francisco. <\/p>\n
“I've always been a believer in the potential and beauty of the individual spirit, especially of the Asian American community,” said Wang. “As such, I'm honored and thrilled to join ASPIRE, an organization that has empowered hundreds of Asian American females for success throughout their lives. As Executive Director, I'm looking forward to building upon this and bringing continued success and transformation to the organization.” <\/p>\n
ASPIRE's <\/b>Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of ASPIRE<\/b>, specifically ASPIRE's<\/b> two largest programs: The annual Asian American Women in Leadership Conference (AAWIL)<\/b> and Youth Leadership Program (YLP)<\/b>. Wang will also be responsible for leading and managing the ASPIRE<\/b> Program Committee – a team of approximately 20 women volunteers in charge of creating and producing various ASPIRE<\/b> programs for high school, college and professional women. <\/p>\nAbout ASPIRE<\/h3>\n
Founded in 2001, ASPIRE<\/b> was established to empower Asian American high school and college girls with career development and leadership skills through shared experiences and mentoring.
