Held in conjunction with the Pearl Presidential Inaugural Ball and the supporting coalition, the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans, &#8220;Moving the Dream Forward&#8221; will consist of morning briefings that will help our communities coordinate and coalesce, as we again visit the theme of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.&#39;s &#8220;I Have a Dream&#8221; speech. On the eve of the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, APIAVote will be hosting panels that discuss the following: the AAPI impact on the 2008 Election; contextualizing and explaining the transition process; helping frame the AAPI policy agenda(s) as we move forward with the new White House, the agencies, and a new Congress; and exploring how we work together to move a progressive AAPI policy agenda forward.
