A variety of directors have been attached to the project, including Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Alfanso Curson and M. Night Shyamalan (who claimed that he decided not to make the film<br \/>\ndue to the audience\u2019s expectation of a twist ending). And now <strong>Ang Lee<\/strong> is in talks to direct the adaptation for Fox 2000. Lee will supervise an entirely new take on the screenplay.<\/p>\n<p>The book tells the story of <strong>Piscine \u201cPi\u201d Molitor Patel<\/strong>, an Indian boy who survives 227 days after a shipwreck, while stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a hyena, an injured zebra, an orangutan and a hungry Bengal tiger.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Slumdog Millionaire&#8217;s Irrfan Khan<\/strong> is up for a part in the film. He must be pretty special, Director <a href=\"http:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/feb_2009\/slumdog_millionaire_director_danny_boyle\" target=\"_blank\">Danny Boyle<\/a> also wants to work with Irrfan Khan&#8230;Again!<\/p>\n<p><em>Source Variety<\/em><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang Lee is being lined up to adapt the novel, Life of Pi, into a Hollywood movie.
