Betty Brown, R-Terrell<\/strong>, for her (now widely-distributed) comments asking if <strong>Asian-American voters<\/strong> could maybe change their names to make them more &quot;American&quot; and &quot;easier to deal with&quot;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ko<\/strong> says <strong>Brown<\/strong> told him she meant no offense by her questions on Tuesday. According to Ko, Brown said she was just trying to be helpful and come up with a solution to the problems with the Voter ID bill, and she meant nothing derogatory about Ko or &quot;his race.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I told her I appreciated the phone call and the personal apology,&quot; Ko writes, in an email I just received. <\/p>\n<p>A public apology is to be distributed.
