{"id":4470,"date":"2009-07-23T21:07:39","date_gmt":"2009-07-23T21:07:39","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-07-23T21:07:47","modified_gmt":"2009-07-23T21:07:47","slug":"Naomi-Campbell-s-Bollywood-film-is-Karma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=4470","title":{"rendered":"Naomi Campbell&#8217;s Bollywood film is Karma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Supermodel Naomi Campbell\u2019s<\/strong> first Bollywood film <strong>Karma, Confessions and Holi opened with dreadful reviews in India<\/strong> with Hindus branding the film \u201cundignified disaster\u201d and an \u201cunholy mess\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The film, directed by Manish Gupta and co-produced by Robert De Niro\u2019s daughter Drena, has bombed badly at the box office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHindus have strongly objected to the usage of Hindu terminology in movies and Karma, Confessions and Holi has nothing much to do with karma or Holi,\u201d Contactmusic quoted Rajan Zed, the president of Universal Society of Hinduism, as saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHindus welcome world filmmakers making films about Hindu subjects but taking Hinduism seriously and respectfully and not reimagining its concepts and symbols just for mercantile greed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHoli and karma have definite meaning for devotees, and improper usage of such terms is not OK,\u201d he added.
