{"id":5180,"date":"2010-01-03T21:01:13","date_gmt":"2010-01-03T21:01:13","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-10-15T13:25:27","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T13:25:27","slug":"wonder-girls-tops-billboard-singles-sales-year-end-chart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=5180","title":{"rendered":"Wonder Girls tops Billboard singles sales year-end chart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Wonder Girls continues to make its presence felt in the US music market.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just recently, the <strong>girl\u2019s song \u201cNobody\u201d topped Billboard\u2019s Year-End Hot Singles Sales chart, beating big stars like Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Beyonce<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Behind \u201cNobody\u201d are \u201cPretty Wings\u201d by Maxwell; \u201cObsessed\u201d by Carey; \u201cBig City Dreams\u201d by Never Shout Never; \u201cStanky Legg\u201d by GS Boyz; \u201cRun this Town\u201d by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West; &quot;We Fly\u201d by AG feat. Bizzy Bones and Alex Duncan; \u201cJust Dance\u201d by Lady Gaga; \u201cShe Wolf\u201d by Shakira; and \u201cHalo\u201d by Beyonce.<\/p>\n<p>The Wonder Girls launched their US career last year by making an English version of \u201cNobody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although the song only peaked at No. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released in October last year, this made the Wonder Girls the first-ever Korean pop act to enter the Hot 100 chart.<\/p>\n<p>To support the release, the group went to front for the Jonas Brothers in their concert tour in the US last year.<\/p>\n<p>In December, the Wonder Girls was chosen as one of the \u201c100 things to watch in 2010\u201d by advertising giant JWT (formerly J. Walter Thompson). <\/p>\n<p><strong>The Wonder Girls, composed of Sohee, Sunye, Ye-eun, Sunmi, and Yubin, is set to launch their first English album in February.<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--break--><br \/>\n<!--Session data--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wonder Girls continues to make its presence felt in the US music market.
