The Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey WBO welterweight title fight scheduled for March 13 at Cowboys Stadium is nearly a sellout.<\/p>\n
Boxing promoter Bob Arum said the seating capacity for the first boxing match at the new $1.2 billion facility will be 45,000. However, it could expand if the demand for tickets increases.<\/p>\n
“Right now we’re on target to sell the 45,000 seats and we’ll be happy when we do that,” Arum said on a conference call with reporters. “We sold 350 tickets [Wednesday] and are on target of doing that [again] today.”<\/p>\n
Cowboys officials said over 30,000 seats have been purchased.<\/p>\n
Arum said if 3,000 to 4,000 tickets are unsold leading into the final week before the fight, promoters would have no problem selling those.<\/p>\n
Next week, Manny Pacquiao will make his second appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, The show airs this Wednesday, March 3 (12:05 a.m. ET\/PT.). Pacquiao made his U.S. network television debut, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, last November, on the eve of his challenge of world welterweight champion Miguel Cotto.<\/p>\n
