Captivating actor Agam Darshi will be appearing in the upcoming CTV comedy \u2018Dan for Mayor\u2019<\/strong>, starring Fred Ewanuick (Corner Gas, Robson Arms), and brought to us by the comedic writers of the wildly popular show \u2018Corner Gas\u2019. \u2018Dan for Mayor\u2019 follows the title character (Ewanuick), a 30-something bartender who lives and works in the fictional city of Wessex, ON. Dan\u2019s had the same friends since grade school, his most prized possession is a vintage Ms. Pac-Man game and his last serious relationship was with a girl who is now engaged to someone else. His life seems to be firmly on the path to more of the same…until a chance comment suddenly puts him in the running for mayor of Wessex. With an incredible cast, and appearances by three real-life mayors, this creative new comedy is sure to entertain!<\/p>\n

Agam can currently be seen on the hit sci-fi series \u2018Sanctuary\u2019<\/strong>, which has just been renewed for its third season, as manipulative con artist Kate Freelander. \u2018Sanctuary\u2019 follows the adventures of the enigmatic and always surprising Dr. Helen Magnus (Tapping), and her team as they track down, study and protect the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world and live among us. <\/p>\n

Since booking her very first audition (for a recurring role on Renegade Press.com), the inspiring British-born, Canadian-raised actor has been on the rise in the entertainment industry. The accomplished performer\u2019s television and film appearances comprise an impressive list of diverse projects and characters. Her television credits include a recurring role on the hit Global series \u2018The Guard\u2019, a lead role in the MOW \u2018Haunting on Sorority Row\u2019, opposite Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), a series lead on the CBC series \u201849th and Main\u2019, a lead role in the YTV series \u2018Zixx Level Two\u2019, and guest starring roles on \u2018Stargate Universe\u2019, \u2018Stargate Atlantis\u2019 and \u2018Psych\u2019.<\/p>\n

The multifaceted artist is not only an actor, but a writer and producer as well. To date, she has written and produced three short films. One of her projects, \u2018Bollywood Beckons\u2019<\/strong>, was screened at the Chicago International Film Festival, and the New York City Downtown Film Festival. She is currently writing a feature film.<\/p>\n

Agam was born in Birmingham England, and raised all over Canada. She currently resides in Vancouver.<\/p>\n

The anticipated comedy Dan For Mayor is set to join the Monday night comedy block and premiered on CTV at 8:30pm ET\/PT on March 1st, 2010.<\/strong> Dan For Mayor also airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET\/PT, beginning March 6 on The Comedy Network.<\/p>\n
