{"id":6332,"date":"2010-09-14T00:09:01","date_gmt":"2010-09-14T00:09:01","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-09-14T03:09:21","modified_gmt":"2010-09-14T03:09:21","slug":"NYFF-pays-homage-to-Japanese-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=6332","title":{"rendered":"NYFF pays homage to Japanese director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>New York Film Festival<\/strong> is honoring the films of Japanese Director <strong>Masahiro Shinoda <\/strong>in a retrospective slated to last the entire festival.<\/p>\n<p>The 79-year old director is best known for exploring how the modern Japanese cinematic aesthetic interacts with traditional art forms such as bunraku puppet theatre and sumi ink painting. He also teamed up extensively with other leading Japanese artists such as <strong>Shuji Terayama<\/strong>.
