{"id":6338,"date":"2010-09-15T05:09:03","date_gmt":"2010-09-15T05:09:03","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-09-15T05:09:03","modified_gmt":"2010-09-15T05:09:03","slug":"Indian-American-Reshma-Saujani-loses-New-York-primary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=6338","title":{"rendered":"Indian American Reshma Saujani loses New York primary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, <strong>Indian American Reshma <\/strong>Saujani, failed in her bid to challenge veteran Democrat Carolyn Maloney.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Saujani<\/strong>, who raised more than $1.3 million in her bid to represent the 14th Congressional District, which includes the Upper East Side and parts of Queens, was Ms. Maloney\u2019s most serious opposition to date.<\/p>\n<p>The daughter of Indian immigrants who fled Uganda, Ms. Saujani built a coalition of supporters with the help of Steven L. Rattner, a powerful Democratic financier, and Diana L. Taylor, Mayor Michael R.
