{"id":6375,"date":"2010-09-21T00:09:16","date_gmt":"2010-09-21T00:09:16","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-09-21T20:09:53","modified_gmt":"2010-09-21T20:09:53","slug":"Shao-Yen-Shows-Some-Skin-At-LFW","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=6375","title":{"rendered":"Shao Yen Shows Some Skin At LFW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Taiwanese designer <strong>Shao Yen<\/strong> took part in the <strong>On\/Off<\/strong> presentation in London where he showed his latest collection of womenswear, inspired by the human anatomy. <\/p>\n<p>The collection is aptly named <strong>&#8220;Skins&#8221;<\/strong>. Perhaps it is not surprising that he chose the anatomy as the idea behind the collection. Having done an internship with <strong>Alexander McQueen<\/strong> who was known for his fascination with bones, <strong>Yen\u2019s<\/strong> direction is not entirely unfounded.  He spent seven years at <strong>Central Saint Martins<\/strong> and his craftsmanship is evident in the contours of the pieces, the architecture of its shape and the innovation with textiles. The color palette was not monochromatic; rather, it took creams, nudes, blacks and blues and sculpted them into unique dresses with interesting drapery and refined cuts. <\/p>\n<p>The collection was shown in collaboration with digital artist, <strong>Yaojen Chuang<\/strong> who worked alongside Yen to produce the video. <strong>Chaung<\/strong> is an architect\/designer who also studied at <strong>Central Saint Martin<\/strong> and has been invited to participate in the <strong>Royal Academy\u2019s Summer Exhibition<\/strong> for the last two years. He will also be showing his work at this year\u2019s <strong>Venice International Architecture Biennale<\/strong> and will launch his solo show in London later this year. <\/p>\n<p><object
