{"id":6541,"date":"2010-10-25T04:10:57","date_gmt":"2010-10-25T04:10:57","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-10-13T20:43:22","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T20:43:22","slug":"calling-apis-to-help-with-pan-asian-community-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=6541","title":{"rendered":"Calling APIs to help with &#8216;Pan Asian Community Together&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Calling all APIs to get involved with PACT: Pan Asian Community Together<br \/>\n<strong>WHAT:<\/strong><br \/>\nPan Asian Community Together will be shooting 3 different targeted PSAs next Saturday, October 30, 2010 or Sunday October 30, 2010 from 10 to 5pm in either Los Angeles, CA; or North Hollywood, CA; Details to be confirmed on Tuesday with complete logistics to be detailed.<br \/>\n<strong>Focus 1: <\/strong>Preventing gay suicide\u2014APIs for The Trevor Project (\u201cIt Gets Better\u201d)<br \/>\n<strong>Focus 2:<\/strong> Stop Anti-Asian Violence<br \/>\n<strong>Focus 3:<\/strong> Get out the API vote<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY:<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recently there have been 4 gay suicides arising out of bullying.<\/li>\n<li>Anti-API violence still occurs, with a rash of attacks in Philadelphia<\/li>\n<li>API voter turnout is dismal, and this election is important.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHO:<\/strong><br \/>\nCalling all interested APIs (as many that we can accommodate in the time period we have)<br \/>\n<strong>And ESPECIALLY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Filmmakers with equipment to do B roll; behind the scenes <\/li>\n<li>Media of all kinds<\/li>\n<li>Photographers to do back-drop and at-event photography<\/li>\n<li>Celebrities (special devoted time slots available)<\/li>\n<li>Organizations especially with those who have interest in above focus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You do not have to do all the PSAs\u2014only the ones you\u2019d like to do.<br \/>\n<strong>WHEN:<\/strong> Saturday, October 30, 2010 or Sunday October 30, 2010 from 10 to 5pm in<br \/>\n<strong>WHERE:<\/strong>  either Los Angeles, CA; or North Hollywood, CA<br \/>\n<strong>HOW:<\/strong> Prepare up to 2 minutes of what you\u2019d like to say on camera for each of the focus topics you\u2019d like to appear for.<\/p>\n<p>These will be broadcast on Youtube and the Internet. There is no pay, and a signed release of use of appearance is required to participate.<\/p>\n<p>REQUIRED RSVP with Ken Choy at ken@mapid.us. You may not just show up.
