The Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM), a forum for Asian American investment managers<\/strong> met and conducted business with plan sponsors, fund-of-funds and institutional investors, announced the agenda for its 2010 conference, Building Bridges: Capital Access, Asia, Government Policy today<\/strong>. The conference was held at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco on October 14-15, 2010.<\/p>\n

Building Bridges<\/strong> brought together established names in the international investment community, respected investment professionals from Wall Street\u2019s top financial institutions, principals from Washington, DC and governmental officials to share their success stories. The conference included panels featuring top limited partners and investors whose decisions and advice have the ability to move markets and trends. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are entering a new era of opportunity that will involve a high-level of collaboration between the US and Asia<\/strong>,\u201d said Brenda Chia, President, AAAIM. \u201cInvestment professionals who understand the environment and are ready to capitalize on the emerging global economy with a clear understanding of the opportunities as well as the challenges will be poised to create lasting impact.\u201d <\/p>\n

The program featured the Who\u2019s Who in the Asian American<\/strong> financial community as presenters, speakers and honorees including: The Honorable John Chiang<\/strong>, California State Controller, The Honorable John Liu, New York City Comptroller, Christopher Ailman, Chief Investment Officer, CalSTRS, Joseph Dear, Chief Investment Officer, CalPERS, Larry Schloss, Chief Investment Officer, New York City Employees\u2019 Retirement System, Lynda Choi, University of California, Office of the Treasurer of the Regents, Ta-lin Hsu of H&Q Asia Pacific, Benjamin Liou of The Getty Foundation, Yuelin Yang of IMC Corp Singapore, Ginger Lew of the National Economic Council and representatives from the Chinese Consulate and Singapore government. AAAIM will present Ambassador Linda Tsao Yang with the Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/strong> <\/p>\n
