“Take a Number” is the first major release of JMD\/Universal’s Pop\/R&B Soulstress Baiyu.<\/strong> The track, produced by KQuick includes a fresh verse from Bronx Rapper Fred the Godson. <\/p>\n

Baiyu<\/strong> is currently working on her debut album with hopes of expanding her fan base that will accept her ethnic background and like her music. Baiyu is breaking barriers in the music industry being one of the first East Asian rnb\/pop artists trying to break in the music industry<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Baiyu<\/strong> has been able to optimize on the much attention she has gotten by working with Seventeen Music, four independent films, and being a host for MTVU Hip show, Freshman, for three seasons.<\/p>\n

Not everything for Baiyu<\/strong> has been easy, especially being an rnb\/pop artist of Asian decent. Many people have approached Baiyu<\/strong> after hearing her music, telling her how unbelievable it is that she \u201csounds black.\u201d <\/p>\n

Baiyu<\/strong> was born in a family with musical talent, and she gained this love for soulful music after hearing artists\u2019 singers such as Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, TLC and Whitney Houston.<\/p>\n

Baiyu<\/strong> was introduced to these r&b artists upon her arrival to the United States after her father came to U.S. to help their family find a better way of life. <\/p>\n

While Baiyu\u2019s father was in U.S., Baiyu and her mother shared a small house with peeling paint with about five other families in China.<\/strong> With no running water, Baiyu eagerly waited for her father to come back to take them to America. After four years of struggle, her parents were able to afford a small one bedroom apartment in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where Baiyu discovered her passion for music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
