A Florida man at a country club has been killed by a golfer’s tee shot<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Police say Maurice Hayden was pulling weeds near a tree at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford on Wednesday when
\nhe was struck in the temple about 30 yards away.<\/p>\n

The 42-year-old man was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital. Police say he died Thursday after being removed from life support.<\/p>\n

Police say the shot was an accident and that the golfer will not face charges.<\/p>\n

I cannot tell you how many Charity Golf Tournaments I have volunteered at and played for where I see guys and girls swinging away who obviously never had a lesson. This is Very Dangerous because they can buy Mulligans (to take extra shots at killing you) and eventhough it is a Scramble, balls go flying in all different directions. Legally, you are not protected from injury and you are playing at your own risk. Last year, I was almost killed by an idiot amateur who took a shot which went flying in the direction of my head. Obviously it had 0% alignment with the target at bay.<\/em><\/strong> I avoided him like the plague and reported him to the Committee.<\/strong>
