I have a good friend in Indonesia who has a strong desire to travel to the United States, both for extra college and travel. However, until she began sharing with me all the “rigmarole” that she had to put up with and the hoops that have to be jumped through, I had absolutely no idea how ridiculous it was just for a hard-working, intelligent Asian to do something as simple as travel to the United States. Not being able to simply obtain a Visa and passport, and then fly over — this makes no sense to me. She works in travel and knows a lot about it, and the more she explained it to me, the less sense it made. <\/p>\n
Her response says it all. I asked her, “Why is it so difficult?” And she said, “That’s your government.”<\/p>\n
Two points I want to make here:<\/p>\n
1) Our government is intentionally and increasingly making it harder and harder for legitimate, hard-working, upright and law-abiding citizens to do the simplest of things, while allowing (and sponsoring\/training) the criminals to run a muck and do whatever they want, using their antics as “proof” or reasons why the rest of us must be on lock-down, oppressed, or controlled even more.<\/p>\n
2) It needs to be easier for well-deserving Asians to come to the USA to study and work. Why on earth can any Joe-blow from Mexico come strolling here, start up an illegal business, bring his entire family over and not be kicked out? And yet someone like my friend can’t so much as come visit LEGALLY just for a holiday\/vacation, not for so much as a day! Not to mention that our country would be a better place with people like her in it. <\/p>\n
Which leads me to the answer….the people who run this world run this country, too, and the last thing they want is for us to be BETTER. Things need to be worse so they can have more control, and continue to make this a breeding ground for people who don’t think for themselves and ask questions, but rather just eat what they’re fed in the media through the news and entertainment industry. <\/p>\n
