{"id":7308,"date":"2011-01-19T04:01:12","date_gmt":"2011-01-19T04:01:12","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-01-18T19:01:12","modified_gmt":"2011-01-18T19:01:12","slug":"At-Louis-Vuitton-This-Year-s-Man-Is-Chinese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=7308","title":{"rendered":"At Louis Vuitton, This Year\u2019s Man Is Chinese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Louis Vuitton finally has given a nod to its most important demographic in Asia: Chinese men.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the French luxury brand unveiled a new advertising campaign featuring Godfrey Gao, a Taiwanese-Canadian actor and model \u2014 the first time the company has used an Asian man to showcase its products.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"480\" height=\"385\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/BL8nlSk_nWY?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/BL8nlSk_nWY?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"480\" height=\"385\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Gao, a Vancouver native, has appeared in a number of Taiwanese television dramas, including \u201cVolleyball Lover\u201d and \u201cI Want to Become a Hard Persimmon.\u201d His celebrity is prominent enough in Asia to attract Hong Kong paparazzi \u2014 in December they caught him canoodling with a local starlet, though one could argue it was because of the starlet that he got snapped.<\/p>\n<p><object style=\"height: 390px; width: 500px\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Y4c3Ay26dKg?version=3\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\"><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Y4c3Ay26dKg?version=3\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowScriptAccess=\"always\" width=\"500\" height=\"390\"><\/object><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/scene\/2011\/01\/14\/at-lv-this-years-man-is-chinese\/\" title=\"SOURCE\">SOURCE<\/a><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Louis Vuitton finally has given a nod to its most important demographic in Asia: Chinese men.
