{"id":7390,"date":"2011-01-28T02:01:38","date_gmt":"2011-01-28T02:01:38","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-01-28T02:01:46","modified_gmt":"2011-01-28T02:01:46","slug":"James-Bond-Volcano-Erupts-After-52-Year-Wait","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=7390","title":{"rendered":"James Bond Volcano Erupts After 52-Year Wait"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>James Bond buffs may recognize Mount Shinmoe as the site of the villainous massive underground rocket launch site in the 1967 movie, \u201cYou Only Live Twice.\u201d<\/strong> In its recent smoke-belching appearances on television screens, the volcano has taken on a fresh, real-life menace that not even 007 himself could thwart.<\/p>\n<p>First off, unlike in the film, this volcano isn\u2019t extinct \u2013 it can seriously blow its top. And so Mount Shinmoe, in the Kirishima mountain range between Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefectures in Japan\u2019s southernmost main island Kyushu, erupted big-style Jan. 27 afternoon after it began small-scale activity the previous day. According to the Fukuoka District Meteorological Observatory and Kagoshima Local Meteorological Observatory, in charge of investigating the volcano\u2019s activities, <strong>this is the first time in 52 years the volcano has erupted on an explosive scale.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\"
