{"id":7474,"date":"2011-02-03T00:02:49","date_gmt":"2011-02-03T00:02:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-02-08T22:02:23","modified_gmt":"2011-02-08T22:02:23","slug":"95-Singaporeans-have-returned-from-Egypt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=7474","title":{"rendered":"95 Singaporeans have returned from Egypt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Singapore&#8217;s Foreign Affairs Ministry said it has facilitated the return of 95 Singaporeans, including 81 students following protests in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the ministry said it expects another 102 students and 31 Singaporeans to return on February 4.  It added the safety and well-being of Singaporeans in Egypt has been of paramount concern.<\/p>\n<p>The Singapore embassy in Cairo together with the Islamic Religious Council and the Singapore Student Welfare Organisation in Egypt (PERKEMAS) have maintained close contact with all Singaporean students studying there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In view of the tense security situation, the ministry said Singapore Airlines has also facilitated the return of all Singaporeans who wish to leave Egypt.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>I applaud Singapore Airlines for their assistance in this dangerous situation!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.channelnewsasia.com\/stories\/singaporelocalnews\/view\/1108709\/1\/.html\" title=\"SOURCE\">SOURCE<\/a><br
