leads Star Awards with 14 nominations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Channel 8 blockbuster drama &#8220;Breakout&#8221; leads this year&#8217;s Star Awards with 14 nominations including best drama serial, best screenplay and best theme song.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UKPC6C3ZaQo\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The series also scored double nominations in three of the major acting categories &#8211; best supporting actress, best actress and best actor.  &#8220;Breakout&#8221; stars Christopher Lee and Elvin Ng are up for best actor against Qi Yu Wu (&#8220;The Family Court&#8221;), Shaun Chen (&#8220;Your Hand in Mine&#8221;) and Tay Ping Hui (&#8220;The Family Court&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>This is Ng&#8217;s second straight best actor nod &#8211; his first was for his role in MediaCorp drama &#8220;Together&#8221; &#8211; and the nomination is extra sweet for him.  &#8220;After my first nomination I was asking myself &#8216;now where do I go from here&#8217;, so I&#8217;m really happy I am in the running again,&#8221; said Ng.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rising to the challenge of playing an autistic character, the nomination spells a sense of accomplishment for the 30-year-old, who is happy to have gained the recognition of his peers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.channelnewsasia.com\/stories\/entertainment\/view\/1109273\/1\/.html\" title=\"SOURCE\">SOURCE<\/a><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Channel 8 blockbuster drama &#8220;Breakout&#8221;
