In a series of simple yet striking photographs, Ms. Hayashi, a Tokyo resident and blogger who works as an artist\u2019s assistant, appears to float mid-air, looking as fresh as morning dew.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to express myself in the picture as someone free from Earth\u2019s gravitational pull,\u201d Ms. Hayashi told JRT in an interview Monday. \u201cIn being free of gravity in the pictures, I am also not bound to societal conventions. I feel as though I am not tied to many things and able to be my true self.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>In a country where many feel it difficult, if not impossible to avoid becoming rooted in unavoidable social conventions, the photos Ms. Hayashi posts on her blog \u201cYowa Yowa Camera Woman Diary\u201d \u2014 meaning \u201ca feeble camera woman\u2019s diary,\u201d \u2013 are attracting growing attention from others in the blogosphere, gaining traction this week on the My Modern Metropolis network of trendspotters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/japanrealtime\/2011\/02\/22\/girl-levitated-natsumi-hayashis-tokyo-diary\/?mod=WSJBlog&#038;mod=japanblog\" title=\"SOURCE\">SOURCE<\/a><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every day, Natsumi Hayashi rises above the constraints of life in Japan: She levitates.
