To create her piece, Ms. Cheng strategically burned \u201ccracks\u201d onto a silver bangle to create the texture of parched earth, then added a pearl to symbolize a solitary raindrop.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, this year\u2019s competition was themed \u201cThe Glory of Spring.\u201d Designers submitted more than 370 entries for the contest\u2019s two categories: the open and student groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The winning pieces will be showcased in the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, March 4-8 at the city\u2019s convention center in Wan Chai.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/scene\/2011\/02\/22\/how-spring-looks-on-a-bracelet\/\" title=\"SOURCE\">SOURCE<\/a><br
