Lady Gaga\u2019s hit song \u201cBorn This Way\u201d doesn\u2019t sound the same in Malaysia as it does in other parts of the world, according to reports. The song is largely about tolerance: \u201cWhether you\u2019re broke or evergreen, You\u2019re black, white, beige, chola descent, You\u2019re Lebanese, you\u2019re orient, Whether life\u2019s disabilities, Left you outcast, bullied or teased, Rejoice and love yourself today\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

But it includes lyrics such as \u2018No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I\u2019m on the right track, baby.\u2019 On Malaysian radio, those lines have been edited out.<\/p>\n

The country is notoriously conservative when it comes to Western popstars. A few of Kylie Minogue\u2019s music videos have been banned there; Black Eye Peas\u2019s Fergie covered up during a 2009 gig in Kuala Lumpur; and in 2009, Beyonc\u00e9 was asked to tone down her concert in that country (she later postponed it).<\/strong><\/p>\n
