There has been more exposure and awareness about the seduction arts in the media due to the bestselling book, The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists. The book was written by Neil Strauss who spent over two years getting close and studying some of the world\u2019s most proficient pickup artists – men who can pick up any women they want, wherever they are, whenever they want. He became so proficient in the pickup techniques that he became known as one of the best pickup artists in the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the book came out, I got a copy of it. His stories and experiences of becoming an expert pickup artist were very intriguing to say the least. But what I found more interesting were the pickup techniques he described. They were brilliant! In the interest of research (I swear!), I got a few (really only just a few) more \u201cliterature\u201d on the seduction topic to learn more of those techniques\u2026 I mean to research those techniques. What I found after going through some of those materials confirmed my initial suspicion that piqued my interest in the first place: their closely-guarded seduction techniques actually closely resemble marketing techniques! Following are the seduction techniques:<\/p>\n

Instant feedback<\/strong>
\nIf they do the techniques correctly, they will be able to do the number close (get the women\u2019s phone numbers) or even the kiss close (get the women to kiss them). And if they fail, then they know that they have done something wrong in the seduction process and they will evaluate where they went wrong. How\u2019s that for instant feedback to motivate you to do better?<\/p>\n

Capture and lead the imagination<\/strong>
\nThis is essentially the same as \u201ccapture and lead the imagination\u201d. You want to have your target market\u2019s full attention so that you can start to convey your value to them. Without getting their attention, you will just be \u201cone of those\u201d other businesses or brands that become part of the background marketing noise that can be easily ignored and blocked out of their minds.<\/p>\n

Peacocking<\/strong>
\nIn the seduction world, one of the ways to capture and lead the imagination is the concept of \u201cpeacocking\u201d. It means to dress or present yourself to get attention, just like a peacock uses its feathers to get a mate\u2019s attention. So a guy might wear a top hat or wear chunky jewellery so he stands out and gain attention. In marketing application, it\u2019s about being different. People are attracted to things that are new and novel. So when you present yourself differently, they tend to sit up and pay attention.<\/p>\n

Demonstration higher value<\/strong>
\nAnother powerful technique is the DHV or demonstrating higher value. This is about doing certain things to show that you have a higher social value than the rest of the people in the group. By demonstrating higher social value you become more attractive to the women.<\/p>\n

Negging<\/strong>
\nYet another technique is what is known as \u201cnegging\u201d which is giving a backhanded compliment or a putdown comment to the targeted person. Done correctly, this actually makes the person wants to get closer to you. The rationale of this technique is that good looking women are so used to getting compliments all the time that when you give them a putdown remark, they feel that they need to get closer to you to win you over. This is reverse psychology in action.<\/p>\n

I always put myself in the position of the man and believe me this game has been played on me more than once!<\/strong><\/p>\n
