The third Men’s Fashion Week concluded in Singapore last Sunday, offering a colourful array of the latest in the men’s fashion world. Does Singapore have what it takes to become the next fashion capital? The first two Men’s Fashion Weeks were held in the fashion capitals of Paris and Milan. The third was in Singapore — a relatively newcomer to the scene. <\/p>\n

But what is the difference among the three fashion weeks? Men’s Fashion Week creative director Daniel Boey said: “Milan is all about fabrics, it’s all about classic cuts, there’s a long tradition there. “Paris is all about experimentation. And we are taking that one step further, with an emphasis on Asian designers. <\/p>\n

Every single designer has a different point of view, every single designer has a different silhouette, and every single designer, we feel, has what it takes to make it on the international stage”. Boey said there is often a misconception that the men’s fashion industry is a conservative one. But to half-Singaporean British designer Kim Choong-Wilkins, there’s no reason why men can’t be fashionable too.<\/p>\n
