{"id":8586,"date":"2011-04-27T19:04:08","date_gmt":"2011-04-27T19:04:08","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-04-27T19:04:08","modified_gmt":"2011-04-27T19:04:08","slug":"Michelle-Kwan-to-co-chair-IOC-women-s-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=8586","title":{"rendered":"Michelle Kwan to co-chair IOC women&#8217;s conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Michelle Kwan<\/strong> and Hollywood producer Frank Marshall will co-chair the organizing committee for the <strong>International Olympic Committee Women and Sport Conference in 2012.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nTheir appointments were announced today by the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games. <strong>The three-day event will be Feb. 16-18 in Los Angeles<\/strong>, marking the first time the quadrennial conference is held in the United States.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kwan says the conference plays a role in identifying ways to improve and increase participation of women in sports worldwide.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Marshall<\/strong>, whose producing credits include &#8220;Seabiscuit&#8221; and &#8220;The Color Purple,&#8221; <strong>says a gender gap exists in the upper reaches of sports management<\/strong>.
