Pity the poor lady who never gets a cocktail created in her honor. On Sunday at the Box, Padma Lakshmi actually got four. But would you expect anything less for the larger-than-life “Top Chef” host, who presided over a “Spirited Fete for the Senses,” hosted by Campari to benefit the Endometriosis Foundation of America. Four of the world’s top mixologists created drinks in honor of Ms. Lakshmi’s four major personal flavor profiles. The results uncoincidentally reflect the title of her latest cookbook, “Tangy Tart Hot and Sweet.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tangy:<\/strong> The South Africa Jacques Bezuidenhout served his Easy Breezy Punch in a tea cup, mixing blood orange and grapefruit juice with chamomile berry tea, spicy vermouth and dashes of Bitter Truth Mole Chocolate Bitters.<\/p>\n

Sweet:<\/strong> Francesco Lafranconi topped off a base of Indian mango curry, Rangpur lime-infused gin and saffron-colored Strega liqueur with coconut foam to represent Ms. Lakshmi’s love of dessert. <\/p>\n

Hot:<\/strong> Veterans of Milk & Honey, Christy Pope and Chad Solomon, added a certain spicinesss to their hard-to-recreate-at-home Marco Polo Negroni, with black pepper, curry leaf and bitter orange. They spritzed it with an atomizer filled with a tincture of pippali long peppers, mace, coriander, and cardamom. <\/p>\n

Tart:<\/strong> Jim Meehan, owner of downtown speakeasy PDT, mixed Campari and Lustau India Sherry to Banks 5-Island Rum. <\/p>\n

Maybe someone should have made another cocktail inspired by Ms. Lakshmi’s indecision or, perhaps, her good media training. She, of course, demurred from choosing a favorite.<\/strong><\/p>\n
