The &#8220;Returning Officer Extraordinaire&#8221;, as he is known to his Facebook fans, was treated to cheers and applause from the crowd when he arrived.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Children and adults alike asked to take pictures with Mr Yam, who also heads the People&#8217;s Association (PA).  He said his new-found fame gives the PA a further opportunity to reach out to Singaporeans, especially the youth. <\/p>\n<p><strong>He said: &#8220;In the Facebook, you have the youth. I recognise a lot of them who are my friends&#8217; children, and also my children&#8217;s friends.
