{"id":9083,"date":"2011-05-27T22:05:41","date_gmt":"2011-05-27T22:05:41","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-05-27T22:05:41","modified_gmt":"2011-05-27T22:05:41","slug":"Filmmaker-s-Son-Has-His-Turn-on-Screen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=9083","title":{"rendered":"Filmmaker\u2019s Son Has His Turn on Screen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Taiwanese filmmaker Ang Lee has brought us such contemporary classics as \u201cCrouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,\u201d \u201cThe Ice Storm\u201d and \u201cBrokeback Mountain.\u201d He is currently working on a film version of the bestselling book \u201cLife of Pi.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Friday Mr. Lee\u2019s son, Mason, who turns 21 this week, hits screens in a prominent role in \u201cThe Hangover 2.\u201d Mason is a rising senior at NYU studying acting; he took a semester off to make the film in Thailand and now lives in Chelsea. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Mason Lee decided that he wanted to become an actor when he was watching Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies his family apartment in White Plains when he was 6. Mason would jump off the couch and do high-flying kicks like Jet Li. He started doing local Shakespeare group when he was a freshman in high school and during his junior year he played Puck in \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a
