{"id":9478,"date":"2011-06-30T01:06:10","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T01:06:10","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-06-30T01:06:10","modified_gmt":"2011-06-30T01:06:10","slug":"Cheyenne-Woods-advances-to-quarterfinals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=9478","title":{"rendered":"Cheyenne Woods advances to quarterfinals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Qualifying medalist Cheyenne Woods<\/strong>, the niece of Tiger Woods, advanced to the quarterfinals in the Women&#8217;s U.S. Amateur Public Links, winning two matches today at Bandon Dunes&#8217; Bandon Trails course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Woods, the 20-year-old Phoenix player who won the Atlantic Coast Conference individual championship last month as a junior at Wake Fores<\/strong>t, beat 14-year-old <strong>Bethany Wu<\/strong> of Diamond Bar, Calif., 2-up in the second round, and routed 19-year-old Alex Stewart of Peoria, Ariz., 8 and 7 in the third.<\/p>\n<p>Woods will face 16-year-old <strong>Annie Park<\/strong> of Levittown, N.Y., in the quarterfinals Friday morning. Park advanced with a 1-up victory over Julie Yang of Mesa, Ariz.<\/p>\n<p>In the other upper-bracket quarterfinal, <strong>Vietnam&#8217;s Brianna Do<\/strong> will play UCLA teammate Stephanie Kono of Honolulu.
