{"id":9677,"date":"2011-07-18T01:07:43","date_gmt":"2011-07-18T01:07:43","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-07-18T01:07:43","modified_gmt":"2011-07-18T01:07:43","slug":"White-Cube-Will-Open-a-Branch-in-Hong-Kong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=9677","title":{"rendered":"White Cube Will Open a Branch in Hong Kong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>London gallery White Cube will be opening a new space in Hong Kong next year according to the London art market web site ArtLyst. <\/strong>This is further validation of the <strong>city\u2019s ever-burgeoning art market<\/strong>, following Gagosian\u2019s opening of a branch there in January and <strong>Art Basel\u2019s recent takeover of the Hong Kong International Art Fair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>White Cube is one of London\u2019s most influential galleries.<\/strong> They show <strong>Damien Hirst<\/strong> and <strong>Gilbert &#038; George<\/strong>, among many other artists on an impressive roster. It is possible that <strong>the young Hong Kong art scene is already becoming quite contentious.<\/strong> Mr. Hirst is represented by Gagosian in the US and White Cube in the UK.
