Freddie Roach has begun his work as a consultant to the downtrodden U.S. boxing program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roach also operates a successful boxing gym in Hollywood, Cal., and has a reality show film crew following him around 24\/7<\/strong>. To say Roach is busy is the understatement of the year.<\/p>\n

Roach, who is a hero in the Philippines because of his work with Pacquiao, was asked by the Philippine government to work with their 2012 Olympic team.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I started to think, “Why not work with the American team?” he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So when he was asked by the USOC, Roach jumped at the opportunity. Now he has been thrust into the role of savior, whether he likes it or not.<\/p>\n

“If he can make a world champion, he can make an Olympian,” said Rau’shee Warren, a flyweight who is attempting to make his record third Olympic team.<\/p>\n

Roach has already had five-day training sessions with two of the top male Olympic hopefuls – Warren and Raynell Williams, a lightweight from the 2008 team – and two of the top women – Queen Underwood and Christiana Cruz. Women’s boxing will be an Olympic sport for the first time in 2012.<\/p>\n

If anyone can turn the US boxing team members into Olympic champions, it’s Freddie Roach!!<\/strong><\/p>\n
