Tiger Woods showed no signs of making a charge at the golf’s US Masters today and is seven shots behind leaders Kenny Perry and Angel Cabrera heading into the final round.
Perry, of the US, and Cabrera, of Argentina, share the lead on 11 under par.
Shingo Katayama of Japan, bidding to become the first Asian to win a men’s major, was tied with South African Rory Sabbatini and American Todd Hamilton on 210.
Woods and Phil Mickelson, numbers one and two in the world, were lurking on 212.
Woods’ pursuit of a fifth green jacket kicked off with an opening tee shot into the trees left of the fairway. He wound up three-putting for a double-bogey 6.
Even though he bounced back with a pair of birdies, he was only 36 at the turn and still 2 under for the tournament.
Woods dropped a further stroke on 11 but then rattled off birdies on 13, 15 and 17 to sign for a two under 70 and a four under total.
Looks like Tiger has a lot of work to do www.stuff.co.nz
