Melissa Roxas is a Health and Humanitarian Worker, who was abducted and tortured this year in the in the Philippines. We never heard about her. Mostly likely because she was not a journalist connected to the BBC, NPR, or Al Gore, Roxas’ case has had no coverage in the mainstream media.

Melissa was recently released, but she is fighting back so the Philippine government and military won’t get away with what they did.

President Obama will be meeting with Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the White House on July 30, 2009. The Philippine government and military must answer for the abduction and torture of Melissa Roxas.

If you’re in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, come to the Vigil for Justice at 6 p.m., at the Philippine Consulate’s office — 3600 Wilshire Blvd.

Here’s more information on Roxas’ case.
