Now that Floyd Mayweather Jr. so thoroughly dismissed the lighter Juan Manuel Marquez by unanimous decision this weekend, fans are wondering who his next opponent will be?
Could it be Manny Pacquiao?
Manny Pacquiao fights Miguel Cotto on November 14, MGM Grand, Las Vegas. Pacquiao is guaranteed to earn $13 million in the Cotto fight, plus a lucrative cut in the pay-per-view earnings.
The amount is expected to double in the event he collides with Mayweather Jr, whose highly-anticipated match with the great Oscar De La Hoya in 2007 generated a record pay-per-view of 2.5 million buys.
That would be an amazing fight, especially since Pacquiao is threatening a lawsuit with Floyd Mayweather, Sr, who has been saying Pacquiao is a steroid user.
Let’s hope we see a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight soon!
