As we mentioned three days ago, former K-pop singer and actress Jeong Ryeo-won is poised to advance to Hollywood.

Now, Universal Studios offered a role to BoA in its upcoming film, Hype Nation. The role originally belonged to Son Dambi, who recently dropped the project after months of filming delays and scheduling snafus.


Universal Studios took interest in BoA after seeing her work in the US, thus leading to this casting decision.

Hype Nation, which also stars American hip-hop group B2K and veteran actress Whoopi Goldberg, is said to be (yet another) dance and music film – except this time, the plot circulates around the rivalry between an American dance crew and a Korean b-boy group. Way to try and cash in on the Asian craze! It better be good!
