Captivating actor Agam Darshi will be appearing in the upcoming CTV comedy ‘Dan for Mayor’, starring Fred Ewanuick (Corner Gas, Robson Arms), and brought to us by the comedic writers of the wildly popular show ‘Corner Gas’. ‘Dan for Mayor’ follows the title character (Ewanuick), a 30-something bartender who lives and works in the fictional city of Wessex, ON. Dan’s had the same friends since grade school, his most prized possession is a vintage Ms. Pac-Man game and his last serious relationship was with a girl who is now engaged to someone else. His life seems to be firmly on the path to more of the same…until a chance comment suddenly puts him in the running for mayor of Wessex. With an incredible cast, and appearances by three real-life mayors, this creative new comedy is sure to entertain!
Agam can currently be seen on the hit sci-fi series ‘Sanctuary’, which has just been renewed for its third season, as manipulative con artist Kate Freelander. ‘Sanctuary’ follows the adventures of the enigmatic and always surprising Dr. Helen Magnus (Tapping), and her team as they track down, study and protect the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world and live among us.
Since booking her very first audition (for a recurring role on Renegade Press.com), the inspiring British-born, Canadian-raised actor has been on the rise in the entertainment industry. The accomplished performer’s television and film appearances comprise an impressive list of diverse projects and characters. Her television credits include a recurring role on the hit Global series ‘The Guard’, a lead role in the MOW ‘Haunting on Sorority Row’, opposite Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), a series lead on the CBC series ‘49th and Main’, a lead role in the YTV series ‘Zixx Level Two’, and guest starring roles on ‘Stargate Universe’, ‘Stargate Atlantis’ and ‘Psych’.
The multifaceted artist is not only an actor, but a writer and producer as well. To date, she has written and produced three short films. One of her projects, ‘Bollywood Beckons’, was screened at the Chicago International Film Festival, and the New York City Downtown Film Festival. She is currently writing a feature film.
Agam was born in Birmingham England, and raised all over Canada. She currently resides in Vancouver.
The anticipated comedy Dan For Mayor is set to join the Monday night comedy block and premiered on CTV at 8:30pm ET/PT on March 1st, 2010. Dan For Mayor also airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, beginning March 6 on The Comedy Network.
