The Ice Theatre of New York is a professional figure skating group

The Ice Theatre of New York is a professional figure skating group that performs modern dance choreography on ice. It is currently based at the Chelsea Piers rink complex. In 2005, it was among 406 New York City arts and social service institutions to receive part of a $20 million grant from the Carnegie Corporation, which was made possible through a donation by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. One of the professional skaters is half-Japanese, half-Taiwanese American, Angela Chang. Currently Angela resides in NYC and has enjoyed teaching skating for the past 5 years. Other than skating with Ice Theatre, she skated for the New York Rangers (National Hockey League) for the 2003-2004 season as a Rangers City ice girl. Angela also has had the pleasure of working as an instructor for Figure Skating in Harlem, a not-for-profit organization that helps allow girls in the Harlem community grow both as young women and skaters.
