The Mad Men Obsession – Are you a Betty, Joan or Peggy?
Banana Republic & Mad Men
I love the clothes almost as much as I love the show!
Let’s face it – who doesn’t want to look like they just stepped off the set of Mad Men? Short of perfectly coiffed hair, Banana Republic has made it a lot easier for you to channel your inner Betty, Joan or Peggy.
Designed in collaboration with Mad Men’s Emmy-winning Costume Designer Janie Bryant, the inspired collection offers nearly 65 pieces for both men and women. The women’s line features dresses, cardigans, scarves and heels; the men’s collection features suits, sweaters, pocket squares, neck ties and fedora hats.
I stopped by my local BR to check out the collection myself. Many pieces were already sold out, but there were some pieces that I really loved. The leopard print trench, the silk spot print neck scarf, and the pearl brooch necklace. I didn’t like the begonia print dress, the lace shell and the lace dress in the collection.
I would have happily purchased the houndstooth dress (I loooooove houndstooth), the bracelet sleeve jacket and pencil skirt (there’s nothing sexier than a form-fitting pencil skirt in my book to showcase that booty) and wanted to see if the Betty dress was as flattering as it was pictured in the advertising, but, sadly, they weren’t around for me to look at.
Luckily you can pick up similar vintage type items at vintage stores like Angel in lower Manhattan.
I just got a Mad Men inspired fall season red suit by Tahari with bracelet sleeves and a high collar that would go great with long black leather gloves.
This limited-edition line won’t be available for long, so get shopping!
Until next week (and my next obsession)!
Hey does anyone remember the candy LUCKY STRIKE? They came in a box like cigarettes and were white sugary sticks. Times have really changed!
PS Ter thanks so much for the Mad Men gift set. What a thoughtful surprise! I especially love love love the book! You are the best! XOXO

Don Draper Halloween Costume!
Great Costumes but I make my own. Mad Men is sure to be a hit theme this Halloween! I went as Mad Men’s Joan last year for Halloween and I made the costume. This year I am going as my Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Barbie Doll. Those NFL Cheerleaders were the greatest inspiration to lead a healthier life and whip myself into shape! I am in the best shape of my life now so I better take advantage of it before life passes by. And that advice goes out to all others. Flaunt it while you can. Life is short!
Her boobs are so huge! I’m pretty sure she could smother a man to death between those boobs. It would be one of the most pleasant deaths a man could die.
