Children and Mobile Devices

I was in the middle of doing three things at once last night and my 7 year old beautiful little goddaughter is like a mad scientist with her new electronic devices! She keeps sending me stuff from it and and skyping me like crazy and so last night she sent me this weird link. I clicked on it and it sent out an invitation for everyone on my very old msn contact list to join my network. There are people on there who I have been avoiding for years. People who have been stalking me, you name it!! I was mortified. She is a very gifted child and sooner than later she is going to figure out how to blow up the world with that thing. LOL It was a little friendly reminder to do some email changing and contact housekeeping.

It brings up an important issue for debate though. How young is too young for children to be in control of these new and advanced technological “toys” if you will. Take fraudbook for instance, one click on the wrong button and you may as well spend the rest of your life living in a cave.

What do you think??

Any child under the age of 10 should not be allowed to engage in the use of mobile/electronic devices. Technology is a wonderful thing but like anything, you must know what you are doing and be very responsible. I just spent too much time cleaning up an unnecessary mess and found out from other friends and family members that this is provoked all the time by underaged children who do not understand the power of technology. Be a responsible parent and take the time out to monitor your children. Either that or pay for proper instruction before providing them with technological tools. It is so frustrating the way the law is so behind technology. Lawmakers, put a restriction on the age of technological devices already the way you do on driving for crying out loud!!! So that these innocent little children don’t drive any other adults to do hours of cleanup and maintenance work. I really hope this helps. 🙂
