Hennessy sponsors wedding of Vietnamese socialite

Hennessy was proud to sponsor a custom-designed Groom’s Hennessy Privilege Bar for Vietnamese socialite and celebrity pastry chef, Leyna Tran and her model/entrepreneur fiancé, Tho Doan on the most important day of their lives. This high profile wedding took place on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Turnip Rose Promenade in Costa Mesa, CA.

Hennessy not only provided the cognac for 300 guests but went beyond the call of duty and decided to gift the couple with an luxurious wedding gift: a Groom’s Hennessy Privilege Bar. Thuy-Anh Nguyen, West Coast Marketing Manager for Hennessy, enlisted Jeff Brown’s team at Brown Hot to design a custom bar in white wood with elements of both modern and traditional touches, to match the look and feel of the wedding theme. The couple’s blown up monogram was centered on the bar while the backdrop was a shelf, displaying a breathtaking 16 plus bottles of Hennessy Privilege. There were eleven different butter cream and white colored flowers, candles and signature pieces such as white resin love birds and silver stone hearts. On the right side of the bar, as an ode to the groom, sat a glass dome that encased found art items such as a cast iron hand holding a Hennessy Privilege gobo metal plate, coins with the wedding date, and glass marble globes with the couple’s initials. The craftsmanship of the bar and the details of its design, were a breathtaking stage that represented the newlywed’s love for each other, and the Hennessy brand. It was an amazing display of white spotlighting the warm cognac tones of Hennessy Privilege.

While cognac is a tradition at Vietnamese weddings, the Privilege blend provided a modern tasting opportunity; and the bar set a precedent for future wedding receptions.

While Leyna wanted to execute this special day with only luxury down to every last detail; Tho just loved Hennessy and wanted his guests to have a great time and enjoy themselves. Says the groom, “I just wanted to have Hennessy at my wedding. For them to provide such a beautiful, custom-made bar that was all about us, well, this was more than we could ask for. People will be talking about this bar for a long time.”

  • Wow…got the June wedding in just under the wire! Is there a half year tax write off for tying the knot before the end of June. Grooms like cognac because it sometimes allows them xxx xxx xxxx….sometimes from the new bride, but what are matrons of honor really for?
