Marisa Sung’s Rules of Etiquette for the Modern World Number 39

Who died and made you Grace Kelly?? Anyone who has engaged in the interview process in the United States of America, particularly in the Manhattan area knows what I am talking about! These employers think that they are so desirable and act like they are God. How do they know that YOU are INTERESTED in WORKING FOR THEM?? I’ve learned to interview the potential employer. Don’t ask me if I am married because I will shoot back with do I have to deal with any members of your immediate family who are unstable?? I want a report on them, nevermind me!! I want to know if and when you were ever sued and why!! Where did YOU WORK before arriving at this COMPANY and for HOW LONG?? Why did YOU LEAVE?? I can be an expert at the inquisition and interrogation process as well. How many times have you met with a potential employer and thought, gross-I don’t want to work for him or that girl is a bitch from hell, I would rather subject myself to Chinese Water Torture than report into her each day! Get a clue, just because you are a potential employer does not make you great or desirable in any way. Not everyone is going to want to have to deal with you! 🙁

Interviewing is just like dating, both parties need to be interested. As this is the case, it would be much more appropriate to feel out whether that person is actually interested before stating to all interviewees that position was filled. Most of them probably didn’t want the job in the first place and are just working for the weekend! I hope this helps and have a great day! 🙂

I greatly admire Millenials for their “fuck you” attitude! If their not happy, they just leave! That takes a lot of self esteem and great self confidence! I also applaud them for not making MONEY their GOD! BTW, Who said anything about leaving an undesirable marriage?? No one cares if their employer is married or not and likewise the employer shouldn’t care if the interviewee is married or not either!! Should an employer ever have the nerve to ask me if I am married again, I will reply with “I am allergic to all sea men” instead of “is that a requirement for the job because I can arrange to have that taken care of?” what do you think?? Do ya think I’ll get the job?? LOL 🙂

Leaving an undesirable job is a lot cheaper than leaving an undesirable marriage. Millennials are turning the tide….they just walk away from bad jobs and spread the word.

Thank you. You must mean HOW MANY ACTUAL WORK DAYS DO I WANT AND HOW MUCH MONEY DO I WANT FOR IT?? WE CAN START WITH A 100,000 DOLLAR BONUS WHICH I WAS PROMISED BACK IN 2008 BUT NEVER RECEIVED! That’s right, I had a crazy boss who promised me an additional $100,000 for the year but alas I never got that and then some and he turned out to be the cheapest son of a bitch I ever met in my life!! I had a feeling something was seriously wrong with him after I was forced to deal with his ill-bred wife. I actually felt sorry for the man because he is married to that for life!! At least I was able to get away. I will never put up with an abusive woman like that again=no money in the world is worth it!! I actually had a few horrific experiences in the Corporate World but that one was the absolute worst!! I am writing a novel based on those awful experiences and it is sure to be a major hit!! I was very hesitant to get back into the Corporate World for many years but like my mom says, you can’t let a few bad apples ruin your life. “That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” as my mom says. She is so cute!! 🙂
