Skin Care Tips for the Frequent Flyer from Liu Wen

“Skin care is a long-term process,” explains Liu Wen, the in-demand catwalker and face of Estée Lauder. “You cannot be lazy about it.” She should know; taking care of her otherworldly complexion has been a life-long project for the China-born beauty. Here, she shares her travel and beauty tips and tricks with the Estée Edit.

“We believe very much in the idea of ‘nourishment from the inside out.’ A proper diet will help improve your skin’s condition in the end,” she explains, pointing out that traditional herbs with medicinal benefits were commonplace in some of her most well loved recipes from childhood. “Every time I go home, my mom will cook my favorite soups—like stewed pear with white mushroom, gingko with almonds, black chicken with mountain herbs, carp broth. Soup is both healthy and heartwarming—and feeling good in both of these ways definitely helps my skin glow!”

    Liu Wen says to do the following for great skin:

    1. Drink Your Fruits and Vegetables
    2. Moisturize in-Flight

    4. Mind Your Feet!
    5. Keep Your Body Moving

    She is right however, her skin is flawless! I follow that regimen and my skin looks great but not near as beautiful as hers! She has great genes and Asian Women in particular have gorgeous skin and hair!

    Here is a recipe for a homemade mask that really helps to keep your skin young looking:
    1 cup of greek yogurt
    2 teaspoons of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil
    2 teaspoons of organic raw honey

    Mix together in a bowl and apply to face and neck with a wooden stick or spatula
    Leave on for 25 minutes and rinse off with warm water
