Obama raises money at a tongue-tied Gwyneth Paltrow’s home
Gwyneth Paltrow has won numerous awards for her acting (mainly because of her Father’s Connections), but speaking apparently came with some difficulty Thursday with President Barack Obama standing beside her. “You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly,” the actress, singer and food writer gushed after introducing Obama to several hundred supporters seated on white fold-out chairs in the lush backyard of her home in the movie star haven of Brentwood, a neighborhood in Los Angeles.
In a not-so-subtle reference to her “conscious uncoupling” earlier this year from husband Chris Martin, Paltrow said it was a “profound honor” to have Obama in the home she shares with Apple and Moses, her two children with the Coldplay lead vocalist.
Paltrow hosted a reception and dinner benefiting the Democratic Party that marked the start of a three-day, California fundraising swing for Obama. He is scheduled to attend three other Democratic National Committee fundraisers in Los Angeles and San Francisco before returning to Washington on Saturday.
Tickets to the reception at Paltrow’s home started at $1,000, while dinner tickets cost a minimum of $15,000.
Actors Julia Roberts and Bradley Whitford were among those attending.
In a brief introduction punctuated by “ums,” Paltrow declared herself to be one of Obama’s biggest fans and said he’s an “incredible role model.”
“I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest, and have been since the inception of your campaign,” she said, adding that she thinks both of his campaigns and his presidency will be one of the most important and most scrutinized of all time.
Paltrow noted the approaching Nov. 4 midterm elections in which Democratic control of the Senate is at risk. She called it a “critical time” for Democrats and seemed to urge everyone to vote. “It would be wonderful if we were able to give this man all of the power that he needs to pass the things that he needs to pass,” she said.
She mentioned equal rights for women in the workplace, and investments in sustainable energy and “everything green” before commenting on Obama’s looks. “I’m taking her to the next event,” Obama quipped when it was his turn to speak. He also thanked Paltrow and her kids for “letting us crash your house.”

What the hell does Gwyneth Paltrow know about Politics?? Now we are giving her a Ph.D. in Political Theory?? This is just ridiculous and President Obama already boarded the bus to Hollywood! 🙁 He spends too much time trying to mix in with the Hollywood A List and the Old Wasp Set on Martha’s Vineyard! I think what he really wants is to star in a Harvey Weinstein Movie! I bet that will be his next job and hopefully he will perform a lot better = break a leg! 🙂
I also think that Gwyneth Paltrow needs to feed her narcissistic ego by attaching herself to the President! I guess the crush and gush is payback for her estranged husband straying. Either that or she has schizophrenia and thinks that she is really Marilyn Monroe and he is the late President Kennedy! LOL

It is very poor etiquette to reveal a crush on a married man! 🙁 That is very insulting to his wife and his children especially since she is “unconscious coupled” and on the scene again=SHE HAS A HUGE EGO!! That is a very bad example to set for the young women of today! 🙁 Hopefully she won’t proposition your husband too! 🙁

Perhaps, but unlike her event, I wouldn’t stick the tax payers and the guests with the bill! Another sign of very bad etiquette! She is like the Un Grace Kelly and the Un Emily Post! I used to like her but lately she has been acting like a tremendous idiot! She is not highly educated and is trying to mix in with the intellectual set. Money and fame can’t buy everything but they sure do buy a lot! I hope you all know that the rest of the world thinks that this Country is a joke and that Obama is a clown! 🙁
Gwyneth is going through her mid-life crisis as she turned 40. I went through something like that at one time! She’ll look back and think “I can’t believe I did that.” It’s coming!

Obama has been flying around the country raising major campaign money for democrats. We will see how effective this was very soon on the contested November races.

What else is new? That is the one job he does best=raise money for his own interests. I guess Oprah, Quincy Jones, Puff Daddy and Jay-Z/Beyonce just aren’t enough! He doesn’t cater to the interests of the poor “African American” demographic, but rather the super rich and he clearly tries to be White. We do not have time for his obvious identity crisis! I never see him embracing his “African American” side at all. Be what you are = that goes for Oprah too and stop trying to be a White elitist. Martha’s Vineyard, Fishers Island, Shelter Island and Nantucket are playgrounds for the super rich White establishment. Promote establishments that cater to your specific demographic and help it to grow! Look what Bill Clinton did for Harlem! That is the type of thing that Obama should be doing! 🙁 He caters to the top 1 percent of the population! Democrats are supposed to be concerned with the welfare of the underdog and the downtrodden! Because he leads the Democrats, he should highly limit his hobnobbing with the elite at Martha’s Vineyard and with the A-List in Hollywood! :(The Republicans care more about this demographic than the Democrats despite popular beliefs! Newt Gingrich wrote an excellent book called ‘To Save America.’ That book outlined how the downtrodden can lift themselves out of poverty with the help of government and corporate sponsored programs. One great program was the Co-Op Program and the Year Up Non-profit Organization headed up by Garrett Moran. Corporate Work Study Programs and Non-Profits like Year Up provide people with the skills that are necessary to succeed in the Global Modern World without having to get yourself into any debt whatsoever! The very best President we ever had was Ronald Reagan. My dad loved him! 🙂
