Sony Drops Danny Boyle Directed Steve Jobs Film
Deadline reports that Sony has put the Danny Boyle directed “Jobs” in turnaround, with Universal now kicking the tires on the movie to potentially give it a home. There’s no word on why the studio dropped the project, but it seems everything is being done with the Scott Rudin production to try and keep it on track. As previously reported, the film boasts a 181-page script, that will tell the story of Steve Jobs via a triptych structure, focusing on the Mac, NeXT and iPod product launches, in 1984, 1997 and 2001 respectively.
Michael Fassbender was the last name rumored for the title role, but nothing is official yet, and likely won’t be until this project has a home. Insert your own booting up joke closing, right here….
From Oscar for Slumdog to dropped films? Danny Boyle is still one of the nicest men in Hollywood.
