The Chinese celebrate their Independence Day on the 1st of October every year, marking the foundation of the People’s Republic of China. The Central People’s Government passed the Resolution on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China on December 2, 1949 and declared October 1 as the National Day or Independence Day of China. It is the day (in 1949) that the current communist government formed.

China, a cultural state and ancient civilization in East Asia, is one of the world’s oldest leading civilizations, consisting of states and cultures dating back more than six millennia. With Beijing as its capital, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has led the PRC under a one-party system since the state’s establishment in 1949.
