The Chinese celebrate their Independence Day on the 1st of October every year, marking the foundation of the People’s Republic of China. The Central People’s Government passed the Resolution on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China on December 2, 1949 and declared October 1 as the National Day or Independence Day of China. It is the day (in 1949) that the current communist government formed.
