2007 AZN Asian Excellence Awards

The AZN Asian Excellence Awards is an annual celebration of the outstanding achievements of Asians and Asian Americans in film, television, music, and the performing arts. This year’s show will reach its broadest national televised audience ever – nearly 100 million homes – with coverage on both AZN Television and E! Entertainment. AZN Television will premiere the show on May 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. In addition, E! Entertainment will air an awards show special featuring Red Carpet arrivals, behind-the-scenes excitement and highlights from the event on May 24 at 6 p.m. ET/PT.

The AZN Asian Excellence Awards are the only nationally televised event celebrating significant Asian and Asian American achievements in entertainment, the arts and other disciplines that have had a profound impact on American culture. The show, which debuted on AZN last year, will be taped live on May 16 at UCLA’s Royce Hall, during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Welly Yang and Teddy Zee are executive producers of the show. Yang is an actor, singer, producer and founder of the Asian theatrical group Second Generation, which produced the earlier version of the “Asian Excellence Awards” known as “The Concert of Excellence.” Zee is known for his producer credits on such features as “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Hitch” and “Saving Face.”

Past honorees and presenters have included Lucy Liu, Quentin Tarantino, Daniel Dae Kim, Rob Schneider, Kelly Hu, Yunjin Kim, Lisa Ling, Bobby Lee, Carrie Ann Inaba, Grace Park, Vivica A. Fox, Jason Scott Lee, Sharon Leal, Keiko Agena, B.D. Wong and many more.

Our LA Correspondent, Ed Moy will be covering the awards and bringing you the latest in Asian American entertainment.

The Hollywood China Film Festival in its third year will be held on November 1, 2007 at The Directors Guild. I am asking all Americans to celebrate it, because we,the human race literally have to stand together or we will dye alone. All One People!

    Cheers,
    Faith
