Obama Pledges US to defend its ally South Korea

President Barack Obama on Tuesday pledged the United States would stand “shoulder to shoulder” with South Korea.
“South Korea is our ally. It has been since the Korean war,” Obama said in his first comments about the North Korean shelling of a South Korean island early Tuesday. “And we strongly affirm our commitment to defend South Korea as part of that alliance.”

Obama called South Korean President Lee Myung-bak later Tuesday night, saying the U.S. would work with the international community to strongly condemn the attack that killed the two South Koreans and injured many more, the White House said.

“President Obama said that North Korea must stop its provocative actions, which will only lead to further isolation, and fully abide by the terms of the armistice agreement and its obligations under international law,” the statement said.

Considering the fact that China is North Korea’s ally, it looks like we’re being played like a piano! This is exactly why we NEED A REAL MAN WITH MILITARY EXPERIENCE TO ASSUME THE ROLE OF PRESIDENT!! Obama is too Green. They are doing this because they CAN!

It just aggravates me that we don’t have a President who is experienced and tough enough to intimidate the Chinese and the Koreans! If the man can’t control his own wife how the hell is he going to run the country???? She made so many stupid statements during his campaign that they had to hide her so to speak.

Thank you so much for your response! As you say, it is ONLY MY OPINION. I respect that you have YOUR opinion. I make a habit to almost never post my opinion on an objective news article and save it for my blog. However, today I tried an experiment to measure the response rate and try to get a forum going.

Thanks again! Someone is not sleeping. Obama would be proud to have you as a supporter.

  • Marisa, Since when do you offer your opinions in a objective news story – NEED A REAL MAN WITH MILITARY EXPERIENCE TO ASSUME THE ROLE OF PRESIDENT!! Obama is too Green.- You should put it out of the article and post your opinion. Who do you want McCain or Palin running the show? Clearly we don’t want a Korean War part 2, but the US scenarios are there if NK provokes more agression.

I just saw a video of Sarah Palin teaching lovely Bristol how to whack halibut while on a fishing trip. Ms. Palin also kills wolves and moose. There is something wrong with someone who feels perfectly fine doing that to another living thing…politics aside. It is very telling. I would never want a leader of my country to think that behavior is appropriate or normal. I’m not the only one. Check out my profile. I just updated it with some quotes of very prominent, respected Americans…and it involves their belief in animal rights.

Looks like two threads for the same topic so:

Sooner or later South Korea will have to face the unthinkable and pay the price. History proves the longer you appease, the higher the price ultimately. Hitler and Tojo used the time to build tanks, ships, planes. Kim used it to build atomic weapons. What he will do now with further inaction and appeasement is anyone’s guess. North Korean leadership has no value of human life. None. For decades they’ve kidnapped Japanese citizens to use as language instructors. They’ve killed South Koreans in foreign countries, etc, etc. No one wants to pay the price to stop them and their sponsor has no interest in reigning them in. They are a useful probing tool for the Chinese and will exist as such until they aren’t.
For years we watched the South Koreans protest America and the American presence in their streets. America responded by removing thousands of troops and employing them elsewhere, leaving a much smaller force behind. Those same despised, detested Americans are needed again! This irony is not lost on the American public whom I doubt highly would support sending their sons and daughters to defend an ally of such ingratitude without major convincing.
After the murder of his innocent Marines and civilians, South Korean president Lee looked behind him for support. Finding nothing but the sternest condemnation from his strongest ally, he did what he could: fired his defense minister!

All this discussion about which politicians can or will do this or do that, or which ones could do it better — it is all meaningless. If McCain or someone else were in office we’d be in the same boat. Democrat, Republican, it doesn’t matter — same thing, different label. In this country, the masses are being brainwashed by political theater, and most of actually believe the lie that we’re living in a free country where our votes actually matter for something, and the guy we vote in has any real power.

The so-called “president” of the USA is nothing more than a puppet, groomed to be the public figure and take the heat (or the praise) for whatever the real powers decide will happen in this world. For those countries (or dictators) who don’t want to play ball and follow orders, they simply send their own personal police force (AKA U.S. military) in and force them to comply, taking over their country and establishing a permanent military presence there (Iraq, soon Iran and North Korea).

It makes me sad for our military men and women, because they deserve much, much better. They are working their butts off, giving their lives up and they think they are doing it for the good ‘ol United States of America. The harsh reality is, however, that our military is being run by the world monarchs who view us as peons and pawns, and themselves as gods on earth (any student of history will know that from the dawn of time until present day, this has always been the case). I happen to be a history, fine arts history and Biblical history researcher, and as you study these things the world begins to become clear and make more sense — although it is very unsettling when you do the math. Politics here, and in most of the rest of the world, is nothing more than theater to keep the people distracted and in the dark, while the rulers do whatever the heck they want and hope no one notices. Sadly (and to our detriment), our world is so saturated with media, indulgences, entertainment, materialism, credit, etc, that we are EASILY distracted, fooled, led astray and imprisoned without even realizing it.

No empire in history has ever had the interests of its people in mind. Ultimately, those in control always believed themselves, at some point, to either be gods, or somehow linked to the gods. This goes all the way back to Egypt. If you don’t believe that or think that it’s hogwash, then you need to really study your history.

I’m not sure exactly what’s going on overseas with North Korea, and even in Iran, but I can assure this: the ones in control know exactly what they’re trying to do, and it’s not in your best interest, nor mine, nor my daughter’s. It’s to bring about one thing, and that is worldwide control.

Besides, even using just common sense, what is it about the U.S.A.’s core policies that requires it to have a military base in almost every country in the world, and to spend time trotting around the globe with “preemptive” strikes? This isn’t American theology — these are the acts of tyrants. American policy is to defend the U.S.A.

In remembrance of those who have fallen.

    -B.

I do like to go fishing and camping. I know how you feel about hunting. Unfortunately, alot of men and women esp in Alaska enjoy hunting as a sport.

I have to admit reindeer and moose chili do not appeal to me and make me rather nauseous! For some reason I feel less guilty eating fish and chicken.

I do own several furs which I have received as gifts and I know better than to wear them out at certain places as I know it will offend animal rights activists.
